Tour To the AACA museum.

A few months ago I hatched this idea to arrange a tour to the aaca museum in Hershey.
their exhibit "ash and maple marvels" featured some of our areas finest wooden station wagons.

in the hustle yesterday, I missed several opportunities, something I don't like to do.
When I arrived home last night I realized that I hadn't taken one good photo all day.. (although I'll certainly share some of my poorly composed photos now!)

this morning, as I prepared to write this, I received a message from my good friend and Hershey native Zach Suhr. While not a Woodie owner I had invited Zach to join us, and alas I missed him..

thanks to Zach for this great shot of the recycled40fordwoodie at the aaca museum in Hershey.

the Day had begun early, Meeting my new best town and country man Mr. Miles and my Model A Woodie brother David just off the Pennsylvania pike.

Our pace to Hershey was somewhat uptempo.. and I was quite impressed with the performance of the unrestored town and country that kept in my "draft". I wonder just how many drivers have been fooled by Mr Miles vintage "Drive Slow Pennsylvania" license plate.

David quickly developed mechanical issues.. (a cracked water neck!) but we employed the "no woodie left behind mantra" and got him through the tour.

some of my poor photos.

after our visit to the Museum and lunch at the "soda Jerk" in Hummelstown, a small group headed to see a fellow woodie club members "collection"

where I met a friend of a friend. and saw some awesome cars.

A terrific day for driving in the Woodie.

Steve Bishop

The Woodie world, and the Penns Woods Chapter, recently lost our good friend Steve Bishop.

Although we lived in close proximity to one another, the majority of our communication was via email, it seemed as though Steve preferred that method of communication over all others.

On a personal level, I truly admired what Steve was doing with the NWC website, I was thankful that the NWC had someone thinking
progressively and working in that capacity.

In addition to his role as administrator to the NWC board, Steve was also working toward the restoration of his own 1950 ford wagon.

I don't know if Steve ever actually planned to finish the car, as it seemed as though he enjoyed the process immensely, for it was through that process, that Steve had become an expert in many aspects of these cars and was eager to share his knowledge with others.

The history of Steve's knowledge, and contributions to the Woodie world live on thanks to the NWC message board. (which I am certain Steve would be happy to know)

Steve, You are surely missed by The Penn's Wood Chapter, and all of the Woodie world.
